Weekly meme time has come again and this week Strawberry Singh is curious about our opinions on astrology. While I’m not very knowledgeable about any zodiac symbolism beyond my own sign I do enjoy reading about it and I can never resist the blog memes. I did look around a bit to see if I could find something astrology related in my inventory for pics, but I don’t have anything at all, so I just thought I’d lay under the stars and look for signs. 🙂
Our meme instructions are as follows:
Copy and paste the following questions and answers into your post; then delete my answers and input your own. Don’t forget to leave a comment (on the original post) with a link to your post so we can all come by and check it out!
1. What is your birthday and/or Zodiac sign?
November, I’m a Scorpio.
2. Do you believe in or follow astrology?
I don’t really believe in newspaper horoscopes and the like, no. I really never delved into it beyond the pop astrology all purpose horoscopes, but I still have fun reading about myself to see what I’m supposed to be like. Back in high school I used to always get the year ahead forecast books and spent lots of time trying to figure out how compatible I would be with either my celeb crushes or whichever cute guy I had a crush on in school. I admit I looked up info on hub’s sign when we started dating too, and we are apparently a challenging match astrologically speaking. Thankfully that didn’t deter me lol.
3. Do you feel your sign’s attributes reflect who you are?
Oh, like most people I want to say that I really identify with the positive traits, but I can’t relate to the negative ones. Honestly they’re so general that any summary of zodiac traits can describe any person regardless of their sign. I usually see that scorps are supposed to be sexy and magnetic (lol) confident and assertive (hahahaha!) intimidated by nothing, and unafraid of confrontation (omg, my laughter) – all traits that I’d love to claim but alas those don’t fit me at all. On the other hand there are some that I relate to: I have a tendency to be bossy, extremely curious, a massive procrastinator, quiet, creative, very moody, and I often get lost in daydreams. I’m sure that describes a lot of people, though.
4. Have you ever been to a psychic or astrologer either in RL or in SL (are there any in SL?)
Nope, never been to a professional psychic or astrologer, online or off. Incidentally, when I was looking in search to see if there might be a good astrology based place to go do some pics I noticed there were a number of people advertising psychic and astrology services, so it’s definitely a thing in SL.
5. Do you read your horoscope daily and try to follow any advice, recommendations or warnings it may have for you that day?
I used to read the horoscopes daily when I still had a newspaper subscription. I had a twitter horoscope auto tweet for a while but turned it off because so many other people were using the same thing I felt like I was just contributing to timeline spam.
6. Do you have very strong feelings about astrology, either negative or positive?
I have no strong feelings about it at all, really. I think it’s fun to read. I’m peripherally aware of things like Mercury retrogrades when they happen, mostly because I follow a lot of people on twitter who mention it, although I’m not convinced that it affects me. And if people think it’s all total bull (as my hub does) that’s fine too.
Another thing I’ve always read about Scorpios is that we’re secretive, and I’m not too sure about that. Clearly I don’t feel too secretive when it comes to the question and answer memes. I don’t care if they’re RL, SL, or dorky lists of random questions that pop up on some of the personal blogs I follow, I think the questions are super fun. 😀 And anything that keeps me writing more is a good thing!
