Roche

I woke up today to the sound of a car alarm going off somewhere in the neighborhood. It was far enough away that we weren’t certain of the location, but close enough that it was extremely difficult to ignore. Eventually it stopped, I suspect either the owners finally came home or the battery gave out, but after listening to that for so long it seemed like a good idea to go somewhere quiet, peaceful, and free of car alarms.

I’ve been seeing Roche in various photo streams I follow, but I hadn’t managed to visit before. I thought I’d leave all of the shots totally unprocessed and uncropped, and just show the sim as I saw it when I was wandering around. (more…)

Stages

For some reason I’d thought all of the SL10B sims would be closing on the 23rd, but while the official events are over, we do have until the 29th to visit the sims.  Yay!

Toady Nakamura and Flea Bussy’s main stage build

I loved the stages, just really love them. The Live stage is amazing and I want to go back to explore more now that the events are over and it may be a bit less populated.

Kazuhiro Aridian’s Lake stage

From many angles the Lake stage reminds me a bit of Roger Dean art, and I just want to wander around and admire it while I listen to 70s prog albums.  ^_^

Life is a waterfall
We drink from the river
Then we turn around and put up our walls.

Touring the Metaverse Again

June is here and with it, Avatar Blogger Month! Hooray!  Since I don’t think I could come up with a thoughtful blog post every day, and I’m certainly not up to date on fashion, I am going to be a tourist and wander around the grid to take pictures.  I may even rope the hubster into logging in so we can go do something fun together.    This is exciting!

For today, since as usual I’ve procrastinated a bit, I’ll just make a quick stop while I gather my tourist gear together.  I’ve always found the Destination Guide to be a good jumping off point, so my first visit was to a Linden relic, the German Castle Ruins in Frisch. I think the new alternate cloud textures give it a nicely moody feel. I have bumped the contrast and fiddled around the edges here, but even in straight viewer shots I think the new cloud textures can provide a really pretty watercolor effect for the skies.
